On its original release, two Donald Duck animated shorts were also released along with it: “Donald and the Wheel” and “The Litterbug.” The film also reunited Mills with David Swift, who directed her in “Pollyanna,” making this his second film for Walt Disney Productions.

Brian Keith unselfishly plays straight man while Hayley and Maureen O’Hara get most of the funny scenes. It’s a simple framework that allows the winning performances and sharply written script to shine. Their scheme encounters a major obstacle, however, when Sharon learns that Dad plans to marry a young, gold-digging socialite (Joanna Barnes). Determined to reunite their mother (Maureen O’Hara) and father (Brian Keith), the girls trade places. The story begins at Camp Inch with 13-years-olds Susan Evers and Sharon McKendrick discovering they’re twins separated at an early age when their parents divorced.
